Hi I'm on same tablet but was recommended to take it in morning xx

antydepresants take about 4 to 5 weeks to get into your system most side effects will have disappeared by then if not see your doc for something else

Would strongly advise NOT taking any antidepressants. Always cause more problems than you already have. Only for use for people with severe depression - is that you ?

Hello Decor, some antidepressants are prescribed specifically for anxiety and can be very useful for controlling it. Unfortunately, some of the side effects can initially be very difficult, including increased anxiety. They can normally take around two two weeks to subside, with some people it's less, with some it's more. If your anxiety has been affecting your life badly (and it can be crippling) then it could be worth carrying on with them but it can be a difficult period to go through. Although I must say I would have thought only taking one wouldn't have caused your increased anxiety already. Check the leaflet that came with your medication for info. George

Hi George1945

I have spoken to the specialty nurse and she said they are certainly side effects and they can strike very fast thank you for your reply

Good morning Décor, I don't know anything about the drug, but I hope you are feeling better soon with far fewer infections.

Perhaps if you phoned your GP surgery for a telephone appointment with the doctor for reassurance. I would guess the drug would not work immediately on first dose.

Take care.

Years ago I was given Seroxat for anxiety, I was in hospital and I started to vomit within hours(Kept all the other patients awake). I carried on being nauseous and sick at home and my gp told me to stop taking them.

I find meditation good for anxiety now...cds or even You tube videos...I go to classes when I can. I am off to yoga now, I just do what I can at the class.

You could ask your doctor about taking 'Kalms' its a herbal remedy for anxiety, they have a herb called Vallerian in them,my daughter takes them as she gets nervous driving and she says they work for her,you can get them in Boots chemist.Always wise to check with the doctor first.

Hi Decor, I can only comment on my mother-in-law who takes 100mg sertraline for anxiety due to possible dementia. They do seem to help her but she has to keep taking them as when she stops, she just reverts back to how she was (anxious and depressed). I believe they are best taken in the morning but do not stop taking them without consulting with your GP. I hope things improve for you very soon. xxx
