Good morning Pamela no need to panic There are people here to help you.I don't know how bad your health is but most people live quite happily with C O P D .I see you are trying to give up smoking how's that going? I know it's not easy but it really is worth it.

Morning Pamela or is it Pam. No need to panic at all. I have had COPD for 11 years and I am still going strong.

You can always phone the BLF nurses and they will give you good advice. Panicking happens quite a lot with COPD sufferers and the nurses will tell you how to cope with it. The phone number is on the main BLF site.

Good luck with it sweetheart.

Get it in your mind, you MUST stop smoking. damage is done. No need for more to occur. Nicotine will only be in your body for about 2 days. During that time, and after, here are 2 tips that worked for me 3 1/2 years ago when I quit after my diagnosis. (1) each time you have the urge, take 10 deep breaths, let each out s-l-o-w-l-y. In your head, focus on the count. After 10 breaths, the urge will be gone. (2) keep a glass of ice next to you at all times. Keep ice in your mouth most of the time, swish it around, chew it, etc.

Keep a piece of paper on your coffee table. Write down each day as it passes. Look forward to looking back on your progress. :)

take rescue remedy - its brilliant for taking panic away.
