Happy bananas to you, Scrobbitty.

Talking of bananas, I think I'll have some for my late, late supper.

I'll put some on toast and sprinkle with a little cinnamon.

Oh you've started a trend there - I have banana, the toaster has toast and cinnamon - somewhere in the back of the cupboard I'm sure - oh and did you know that cinnamon was good for cognitive memory? See not just a pretty face ................. :)

Now that I didn't know. Have you ever tried to swallow a spoonful of the stuff? Dare you to try!!! :)

Ah, might add that to my diet. Yesterday I poured my fresh espresso into my breakfast yogurts :s.

Damn, a challenge - will hunt it out and do it and let you know the results............ sniffing a cinnomon stick before an exam works wonders apparently - son has pockets bulging with them - they will probably have to undergo regulations though and thorough testing and then it can be a pharmacutical product which will provide much needed revenue for our gubbernment :)

spelling could be better Mrs S ! *cinnamon

Oh, you've gotta try it, trust me, it's a blast - or better still challenge your son to do this :) You'll thank me later, I promise :)

He owes me one for all my nursing skill after the trolley incident ........... :)

I love bananas sadly however they do not love me I used to eat them all the time then they started to give me really bad indigestion. Strange how you can eat some thing all your life then it suddenly turns against you, never tried bananas on toast with cinnamon it sounds yummy, or cinebum as we used to call it as kids Julie xxx

Oh brilliant, adopting cinebum from now on! Wonderful word - I went through a phase for a short time when bananas did the same to me - I figured my body couldn't cope with the extra potassium so gave them a miss. Only started again when I lost so much weight and needed to eat something first thing in the morning that was easy. So far so good :)

Thats interesting I might give them a try again then. I would love a nice banoffi pie, if I get indigestion. could you chuck us some tablets please. Is it just the white sliced you buy in supermarkets ? Have you tried bread from the bakers or home made (I am lucky my son likes making bread) as I have read that some of the things that go into Supermarket bread are a bit dubious. Loads of preservatives to make its shelf life longer and they get less waste. I found out the other day that if you are on vit D tablets you should not eat Rhubarb spinach or whole cereals within 2 hours something to do with an acid, I have no idea what happens if you do, maybe grow an extra head or something I guess. Best wishes julie x x

Unfortunately the bakery is too far to amble too and parking rubbish so have to resort to supermarket bread. Have tried white baguettes and don;t have the same problem so must be the additives in the sliced stuff. Please don't grow an extra head, it's not an attractive look :)

As I've grown more mature - hate saying older - I too have found some foods have turned against me. Thankfully Bananas are not one of them :)

White bread (in a loaf) isn't doing it for me at the moment - I get really breathless if I eat a white bread buttie - apparently it's not good for you - but then most of the tasty stuff isn't !

in reply to scrobbitty

You too? Here was me thinking they'd changed the recipe.... ooops

I've never really been a big banana fan, or even a little one.

My husband always had one every day, since he stopped smoking, he cannot stand them. He says he didn't realise how they really tasted! :D

I wasn't a huge fan either really, but had to find something handy to stuff down face or I wouldn't eat anything at all. They have to be just the right feel though, the green ones are totally indigestible, the squishy ones - ewwwwww (although the squishy ones have more cancer fighting properties allegedly) . The trials and tribulations of banana ettiquette :)

I have a banana for breakfast every day, but when I had my big 70th party at the beging of the year, I thought it would b a good idea to hide some of the bananas as I have a 2yr old grandson who peels them and goes to get another one, guess what I could not remember where I had put them, 3mths later they were in a smell proof bag which I rarely use/
