I've been having chest pains and cough, sometimes I would try to get away of the cough by clearing my throat. Am on Ventolin it works well but this symptoms comes frequently almost everyday, and my asthma is controlled. I am doing matric I don't know whether it is stress that trigger this sometimes,am just sure about the cold and it is already May. Because I am too sensitive I would choke every minute my lungs gt cold. What botheres me the most is the chest pain and headaches(magraine my mom or rather the whole family has this problem), I swear my friend can hear me exhailing in the class because I sit right at the back of her and she would close the window. another thing the class is dusty I don't really sneeze but I feel like I smell dust, it is a weird feeling ,its like am around a cloud of dust the feeling lasts for long and makes it difficult to breath after sometime....I need help on this...I wish you understand it...thanks

You probably need to check in with your doctor and mention all you have said here. Could be you need more than just ventolin.
Your doc will be able to advise you best and arrange for further tests as well as prescribe you additional medication.
Good luck, let us know how you get on after seeing your doctor.
Hi trustyblue
I don't have ASTHMA (COPD and Bronchiectasis) but if you read some of the other blogs from people with your problem you will see that a lot of them are having similar problems at the moment. Have a look as there may be some tips to help you feel better. You really need some profesional help though so ring the help line or get an emergency appointment with your GP. Hope you feel better soon, try to relax.

You certainly need advice, trustyblue. I know exams can cause a lot of stress but I think you need to talk to your Mum. Too late to do much before Monday. You need to ring the BLF nurse/consult your respiratory nurse on Monday. Any problems over the weekend, call NHS Direct/other emergency no. Bit vague about tel.nos. I hope that someone will come up with the BLF no.
Anyway all the best for your studying - Trustyblue.
Hiya trustyblue
My son had very bad asthma when he was about your age. It started to lessen when he got to 15 and eventually disappeared altogether. Hopefully yours will go too. My son is now 23 and has just completed a four month tour in Afghanistan. (He is in the army). Give the BLF helpline a ring as Annieseed suggested, they are experts and very friendly. Wishing you all the best, love from Bobby xxx
My son suffered just like you during his schooldays. He is now a dog handler in the Police and has just completed his fourth London Marathon. So you see there is a good chance you will grow out of it as you get older. I hope so. Best wishes try not to be downhearted.
Sorry to hear you're having a tough time.
Stuffy or dusty rooms are horrible, I completely understand what you mean
Now I am a teacher rather than pupil I have decided to be a window-opener dictator haha. But when you're a student it's a bit more difficult.
As others have said, maybe you'd do better on something in addition to Ventolin. That's a great spray for when the asthma is mild and there is no dust or pollen around, but once there is stuff in the air like that I personally don't find ventolin enough.
Maybe worth telling your doctor.
Good luck!
