Is the Blue Badge mobility assessment that is being carried out done by a qualified doctor or is medically authorised to do so and am I entitled to see their credentials, it's just the three options given were a blank refusal, contacting your consultants, or the council just issued one on what they saw at the interview in the local council offices, they kept saying if I received DLA I would automatically receive one I replied it's not everyone who applies to the DLA is successful but in my case I have not applied yet. mattcass

If you get middle-high rate mobility component of DLA you show your letter of entitlement to your local council and they issue your blue badge automatically, same applies to disabled road tax except its zDVLA does this help

Only high rate mobility component of DLA gives and automatic 'pass' for a blue badge, there isn't a middle rate ? Section four of this Deaptment for Transport guidance document explains more - assets.dft.gov.uk/publicati...

In our area the assessment is carried out by an occupational therapist, employed by the council. My own session took almost an hour.

Pay £10 now when they were free because of scammers spoiling it :-(

They say the cost is due to the measures required to make the new badges more secure, printing costs, delivery, admin and so on. I paid £10 for mine, I think it's worth it.

Agree with Gordon here, £10 is a small price to pay and the difference between going out or not :)

Agree with you ,a small price to pay for three years of parking, where we live our local shops for instance are in, a shopping centre and you have to pay to park, and that s not cheap
