My council won't give anyone Blue Badge unless they get DLA/PIP! Is against the rules but they refuse to bend. They argue if SO bad need a Blue Badge then would get high rate mobility! Hope in your case it helps you achieve PIP. Get someone like CAB to help you complete forms.

Hi

If you can get a copy of the case papers that where used to award you your blue badge, it will sever as an extra piece of evidence . All helps the cause.

Our council is brill,, filled the forms in online, they checked with my Dr, and got one straight away,,i really don,t know how councils can turn you down,,you don,t have to be getting benefits to have one,,,

I am not on PIP/DLA and get a blue badge. Councils have the discretionary right to award the badge to people they deem meets the criteria. I am on ESA support?

Hi Offcut why don't you apply for PIP if you get ESA support you should get PIP ?

I went to Age UK to see what they suggested but they were not as helpful as I hoped. I did the Benefit checker on the DWP site and it said I might get mobility. I had such a stressful time getting the ESA without any money at all for some time due to errors with HMRC and DWP I not feeling up to a fight just yet. We are moving very soon we hope! Once we are settled in and I have my head straight.

You should apply I know someone who getting care and mobility because he has diabetes this is why we should campaign to have the rules changed. Are you moving far I wish you all the best wishes

I am moving a few miles from were we are now but clears the mortgage less hassle as ESA does not pay that.

Hi binlid, tends to work the other way if you get DLA/PIP it makes it easier to get a blue badge. But as said a blue badge is not dependent on you receiving any benefits it's based on the severity of your disability in respect of mobility. It is totally a decision made by your local council where as DLA/PIP is a DWP decision based on central government rules. Hope that helps
