The NHS website is my usual go to for clear explanations however it's not showing S.A.D today. This is what I picked up :-
Small airway disease (SAD) is a group of conditions that affect the small airways of the lungs. It can be inflammatory or obstructive.
What are the types of SAD?
Inflammatory
Also known as follicular SAD, this type is characterized by centrilobular nodules and ground glass opacities.
Obstructive
Also known as obliterative SAD, this type is characterized by air trapping and mosaic attenuation.
What causes SAD?
SAD can be part of an underlying connective tissue disorder.
It can be caused by a hypersensitivity reaction to environmental allergens.
How is SAD treated?
Treatment depends on the type of SAD and the underlying cause.
Treatments can include inhaled medications, lifestyle changes, and vaccinations.

I was diagnosed with it 5 years or so after asthma was dx. It was dx at St George's University Hospital in SW London after a CT scan, thorough lung function tests, allergy tests & several xrays.
Apparently it can be a precursor to COPD. Luckily I dont have any signs of COPD
You could write it in the search bar to see if anything else comes up about it. Peege
Hi Peege. That is helpful thank you.
I recognise descriptions, mosaic attenuation and mosaic attenuation from my ct scan done at Guys in Jan 24.
I have read stuff on line but didn't really understand it properly hence asking someone in the know who could explain a bit more in layman's terms!
Most of the stuff online is difficult to interpret. It may be something for the helpline, if you have questions about your ct scan results. They're very helpful and knowledgeable. The helpline number is 0300 222 5800, office hours, Mon to Fri.
