Cold weather is affecting my lungs I have not been diagnosed asthma but but given blue and brown inhaler help

in mid December, I got symptoms of a virus( headache , body ache , fever and I took paracetamol but this did not develop into a cough and a cold and those symptoms got better but anyway each time I went in the cold I struggled to breath in the cold air and felt tired i went to hospital I had chest X-ray and bloods which were okay and the A & E doctor said he suspected it’s a virus if not covid .

I got worse so 2 days later I want to see my GP who said chances are that virus went in my lungs and gave me 2 inhalers brown and blue to use for 2 weeks . I feel better I don’t struggle to breath as much now but I have to cover my mouth and nose with a light scarf to avoid breathing in cold air

Has anyone experienced this should I worry this is the beginning of a problem ?

anyone suffered from this

Viral infections can leave airways sensitive/ hyper reactive for a while

Cold air causes the airways to contract, so I wear a mask when walking some distance in the cold, otherwise I generate a lot of lung mucous overnight. It was thoughtful of your GP to give you something to tide you over for a bit in case the infection caused a temporary lung volume reduction but, if it continues, you should get another appointment to check your lung function properly.

I always cover my mouth in cold weather as it undoubtedly affects me, especially when I have just had a virus.

My asthma & airways react to cold air, I always cover my mouth with a pashmina or a Buff - . brand name for a snug snood which can pull up on going out. I prefer fine wool ones & take a kiddie size (small head 🙄) but there are other synthetic fabrics. They're treated so the moisture wicks away. I wouldn't be without one. P

Thank you all for responding, just a little update for you all . unfortunately my lungs are still sensitive to the cold I went back to the doctor and I have been referred to have lung test and ECG but i to wait untill end of March! In the mean time am back on the clenil inhaler and salbutamol when needed .

What does the lung function test diagnose Will the test be conclusive when am using my inhalers?

Could it be that am developing asthma or do I still have a virus in my chest I don’t have cough or fever could this be silent/ walking pneumonia or just the side effect from the virus I caught in December but it’s more than 6 weeks now

I had chest X-ray , bloods and ECG on 18th december and they were all clear .

Thank you
