I suffer with a sliding hiatus hernia which I causing severe acid. I have been referred to a gastric surgeon who is recommending the linx procedure.
I am trying to decide whether to go ahead with this Surgery or continue with my current symptons. Before deciding I wanted to know from someone who has had this procedure if it has worked? Would be really grateful to hear from someone who has had this done.
Healthy and happy new year to everyone.
Best wishes

Hi Deborah, I have a sliding hiatus hernia with schaski ring. I have been told fundoplication is the only procedure that might help but it may need to be done more than once cause sometimes it doesn't work . I've never heard of the linx but I suffer greatly with pain and reflux. Happy new year to you too - GL, sorry I can't b more help.
A relative of mine had the fundoplication op, having been regularly incapacitated with severe pain & reflux. He found he couldn’t make plans in case of an attack, and was having to cut more & more foods out of his diet too. They gave him the same warnings but this was about 8yrs ago & he’s never looked back 😊
