I am 18 and have been having constant flare ups for over a year now with over 15 a&e trips and 6 admissions to the ward. I was referred to Guy's severe asthma clinic. I have high eosinophil, neutrophils, white cells, platelets and IgE when I have flare ups. I am allergic to NSAIDs, grass, dust, tress and aspergillus. I have had a ct scan showing bronchial wall thickening (I am unsure what this means). My asthma nurse said they'll try get me started on biologics soon and most probably on tezspire. Please share any experiences you have and advice.Thank you

Tezspire and severe asthma flare ups.
Hi there. I have been on Tezspire for 7 months with no problems and a good response. Hope it's the same for you. Takes a little while to get going so be patient. Good luck!
It's good that you have a clear picture on the CT scan, it really helps to push your treatmnet along and to justify the biologics. Tezspire is a relatively new antibody. If that one is ineffective, there are several other ones ("Dupi", "Benra", Xolair etc) which they can try. If that does not work, they can desensitize towards specific allergens. Like you, I am allergic to all grasses and trees, thankfully not to molds and not to NSAIDs.
I have severe asthma and have had 4 admissions in the last year. I recently started on Tezspire and its been a game chamger. Within days I had reduced my salbutamol from 16-20 puffs a day to 2-4. I was waking up 3 or 4 times a night breathless and I am now sleeping 8 hours continuously. I can exercise and do housework without constantly stopping. A miracle drug for me! It did take over 6 months for the assessment, tests, MDT meetings etc, so don't be alarmed by the wait. I hope it works for you. Good luck!
I've been on fasenra( benrazilumab). Waiting to swap to tezelumibab as for me,fasenra wears out for last 2 wks+ a wk to work aft injection so for 3of 8wks I'm v bad
Hi I am also under Guys, for a year now, having been referred by my consultant after he said there was nothing more locally that he could do for me. I started Tezspire in April, taken ever four weeks and it has been a life changing event.
I would advise keeping a diary of symptoms etc.
Try and work out your triggers and avoid if possible.
Get your asthma plan if you haven't already
Try and do as much as you can with in limits of heath to follow a healthy lifestyle diet, fluids, exercise, etc
Sounds obvious but take all medications as and when prescribed.
I am also allergic to grass tree and weed pollen (so very tricky to avoid) and last Dec the freezing cold at an ice rink triggered the worst time I have ever had so know now to avoid the cold and cover mouth with scarf, My asthma is mainly triggered by cold virus' which again means trying to avoid those with colds etc but again often people infectious before symptoms become apparent.
I am glad that the biological therapy is available for you to access at your young age.
I really hope you can receive it soon and that it changes your asthma response for the better.
Best wishes.
