I have had a a great response to my last discussion about my recent experience with the covid booster. However it is noted that it garners a small mix of reactions, I wondered if it would be possible to get a wider poll organised, using a short list of reactions to the jab. That may be a useful overview as to the effects felt by the asthma / breathing issue community. We are expected to accept the necessity for this vaccine and clearly it is largely a good thing, but for many it causes much discomfort and additional suffering.
So would be interested in you views.
Thanks for reading. 🙏🎨🤗

The only problem is that I can see such a poll being taken over by anti-vax people. And I suspect by this point, we are all individually aware of how badly we react to vaccinations, so perhaps it might not provide much additional information.
I don't want the vaccine or any other, but I have it done as benefits outweigh and short term problems. IMO you are with medical pre conditions safer to be vacinated than not.
A wider poll would not work correctly IMO.
All vaccines can cause short term problems but they also save lives. So long as the vaccines are not forced on us, that's good and open tp all of us to make our own minds up on real statistics.
I have flu and covid jabs on Tuesday. (One in each arm) By night time right arm ached, on Wednesday I couldn’t really lift very high as it was painful. Today I’m fine. No other side effects.
Having had a rough time with Covid I would have it twice a year if I was eligible. I would also have the RSV but again not eligible, nor am I eligible for the shingles one.
I was stiff after my flue jab, it's OK now, I have COVID Monday, used to th at not and have been ill in past with COVID and it delayed an operation. RSV - I am 50/50 at the moment,
Hi, I agree I don't think a poll would be entirely appropriate and maybe subjected to anti-vax opinions which would not be healthy. Please see this link that may be able to support with particular reference to side effects that may help ease any anxieites around having it.
Nope, had enough on the subject and no wish to invite anti vax views 9r further discussion. I want all the vaccinations going because the benefits far outweigh a few days of discomfort - in my opinion
Both I and my wife got a sore arm for a few days after the updated covid jab. At the same time, we got the annual flu vaccine in the other arm without any noticed reaction.
A few years ago, I felt a little bit sick after the covid jab for a day or two. But then it was a different covid vaccine.
I don't think a poll is the best idea either due to the general anti-vax pseudo-science stuff that starts kicking off. That said although I take vaccines, each time I've had the Covid vaccine the reaction has got worse until finally this year I decided the reaction was as bad as the times I had Covid. My personal decision was not to have it this time but I do not know if it was the right decision or not. I do know the doctor wasn't fussed at all and didn't try to persuade me. I had my flu jab as I never have a bad reaction to that. I don't think pharma companies are perfect, my eyes are open (my wife worked for one so I got all the inside info bad and good) but they do important work but sometimes make mistakes or are greedy. Ends up being one of those personal decisions that isn't easy.
The families of the millions of people across the World who have died from Covid over the past 5 years would disagree with your assertion that Covid is no more than a bad cold.
There is always a benefit/risk ratio with any drug or vaccine. Current independent research across the World continues to show that the benefit to many of having a MRNA Covid jab significantly outweighs the small risk of complications.
FWiW, my wife and I had our double Shringrix jabs last year. If you are saying that these types of jabs which offer over 90% protection are not worth it, then I suggest that you talk to someone who has had a bad case of Shingles which, inter alia, can leave someone with excruciating long-term nerve pain.
I think vaccines affect everyone differently and I hate when people are labeled anti-vax when this happens. My son and I react badly to vaccines but it’s become such a triggering issue. A poll would be nice because no one will say the vaccines can be harmful for some. And it’s good to have that information so we can make an informed decision.
With respect, this topic should be closed down. It is just an invitation to a small number of anti-vaxers to try to sway opinion with no clinical evidence with which to back up their views.
An example of why anti-vax views are dangerous. My wife had a blood cancer 15 years ago. The NHS still deems her to be in the Extremely Vulnerable Covid category. She and I would be stupid not to have the twice annual Covid jabs. Why - in part - because one of her cancer drugs - Bleomycin - has left some scarring on one of her lungs. If she had to be admitted to hospital for Covid, then high rate O2 administered for a prolonged period could result in O2 re-activated Bleomycin toxicity in her lungs: that is, the O2 which she might need to save her could actually kill her.
I have asthma and I had a Moderna injection 3 days ago. Apart from a mildly stiff muscle in my upper arm, I have had no other side effects.
I always feel rough the next day but OK afterwards. Personally I would say not to listen to the people saying to close this question down. Free speech is important and I am more than happy to listen to all sides of the debate. Finding out peoples first hand experience of the vaccine is important.
The MHRA publishes yellow card data on the side effects of the various COVID vaccines (coronavirus-yellowcard.mhra..., but these don’t take account of existing conditions which, I imagine, would be an extra burden on reporting medical professionals and might not lead to any useful additional data. Also, the problem with a straw poll is that it is self-selecting and doesn’t necessarily give an unbiassed result which is statistically meaningful. As you haven’t indicated what you could or would do with the result, it would tend to be a bit of an academic exercise.
hi. I had problems last time I had the Covid vaccine. I’m due again for flu and Covid on Monday but I have decided just to have the flu one. 2:3 days after Covid v I had red arm then the wheezing started. 3/4 steroid and predicated before feel better I had been clear for a year as I am on Nucala. Thanks for sharing. Good luck
If you go on u tube and look up Dr John Campbell he will give you plenty of data there are other people making claims but I thought I will give you a doctors name as he will be more credible
Not credible at all. John Campbell’s views and misinformation have been widely debunked by reputable scientists, epidemiologists and statisticians. He is a retired nurse & teacher who started off with some reasonable advice on avoiding covid but rapidly courted publicity (and views for his YouTube channel) by adopting an anti-vax stance.
Anyone who hasn’t been living under a stone since Dec 2020 knows by now what the potential side effects of the covid vaccines are, so I really don’t see the point of your post, other than to encourage anti-vaccine comments, and anecdotes about an individual’s own experience which let’s face it are of no relevance to anyone else
We would all be interested in seeing an academic research source for your statement that COVID vaccines have resulted in 14M deaths. Ill informed claims about vaccine safety have, and do, cost lives.
For reasons others have mentioned, I don't think a poll would be helpful. I'm turning off comments now because discussion has happened and it is attracting harmful misinformation about the dangers of COVID and vaccinations (now removed).
I am all for reasoned debate but not when it involves dangerous misinformation.
