I have had my first injection today. Fingers crossed it works ! How long does it take before you start feeling the benefits? Any problems /side effects?

I am just coming up to my last (12th) Tezspire injection of my trial. If I remember correctly, it took about 3 or 4 injections before I truly started to feel the benefit. It has drastically reduced my hospital admissions due to my asthma. I did feel pretty tired at first but can't say for certain if this was the Tezspire as I have other conditions too.

I also experienced some joint pain, but again, this could be due to other conditions.

I feel I can tell when I'm coming up for my next jab as my chest feels different and some of my asthma symptoms occur (although not usually severely).

I can honestly say it has been a game changer fur me and I'm hoping they will approve it for me ongoing. Good luck with your trial. I hope it makes a difference.

That sounds very encouraging. Thanks for your reply. I actually woke up this morning and my chest doesm't feel tight. Which is amazing after an awful 18 months! Lets hope its a game changer!I was told at the clinic, that after 12 months if the treatment was working then I would automatically carry on with it for life ( unless it stopped working). So I'm sure it will be the same for you. (I'm in the UK)

Yes. My asthma nurse has said I've reached my target if at least 50% reduction in admissions, courses of steroids, etc so she can't see why they wouldn't let me continue, but it has to go to MDT for confirmation 😁

It took quite a while to be approved by the MDT, then they had to apply for funding. Hope you get approval soon

I have just had my 5th Tezelumab (Tespire) inj.In the last year alone I had 6 courses of steroids ( and some lasting weeks). The injection has been an absolute lifesaver both physically and emotionally.Maybe a sore throat after the first one?

Poss aching muscle pain initially after injection but have another condition that causes pain in muscles so hard to tell.

Poss slight decline in how clear lungs feel in days leading up to next injection.

Otherwise NO steroids since being on injections and I feel like I had a lung transplant with a brand new set of perfect lungs!!!!!!!!!!

Summer and winter cause issues in equal measure so the winter will be a telling time too but so far so good.

There is a chance next year I can cut down on inhalers too if I continue on an upwards trajectory!

Good luck!

Let us know how you get on.

UpdateThis drug is a real game changer ! After a day or so I noticed a difference. 9 days in I cannot believe the difference. I was taking between 16 -20 puffs of salbutamol per day and waking up breathless 2-4 times a night! Now I am down to 4-6 puffs and have slept every night with no interupted sleep . This hadnt happened since NYE!. Im still on symbicort 400 x4 daily and 25mg prednisolone. Hopefully I will be able to reduce this soon! Im blown away how much better Im feeling! Long may it continue😀
