Hi all hope your wellI don't know if my breathing is in my head or not anymore. My tests etc have come back ok I have had a couple of chest infections over the last few months. And I was on trombow dry powder but it gave me oral thrush so I went back to my pressurised inhaler of trimbow and I seen the GP yesterday and told me to continue the dry powder one if it helps better. The last few nights just before I fall asleep it's like I forget to breath and now I'm focusing on it constantly and feel like my throat is tight and fluttery. My oxygen is fine and so is my pulse I just don't know if me thinking about it is making it worse. I think many things can cause palpitations but I always fear the worst

Thanks for reading

You need to talk to a health professional about all these worries - ideally soeone who knows you such as your GP or practice nurse. Worry makes everything worse, but you need to know exactly how to deal wit your feelings.

If this is happening just before you fall asleep (in addition to the excellent advice the others gave you), I wonder if perhaps you have a trigger in your bedroom that is causing you to struggle somewhat, but not enough to affect your oxygen levels. (How do you know that your oxygen levels are fine? Do you wear a pulse oximeter to bed? Or some other overnight monitor?)

I'm always meeting people who talk about having trouble at night with their breathing, and when I ask, I find out that they haven't replaced their pillows in years, and they never wash them, and they have lots of other dust-collecting problems in their bedrooms.

Just a thought.
