Wondering if anyone else has experienced a very bitter taste in the mouth - both whilst eating & drinking (& generally too) when taking FostairNEXThaler?
I’ve recently been discharged home after another hospital admission (asthma exacerbation secondary to Covid) so the dysguesia may very well be Covid-related), but I haven’t been taking FostairNEXThaler for that long either so alternatively, it could be possible medication side effect.
Would be interested to hear if anyone has experienced dysguesia (altered taste) with FostairNEXThaler?
I don’t have oral candidiasis (thrush).
Thanks.

Hi, I've been using it for years (both strengths) and never had this issue, it may well be the lingering effects of covid which for me took a long time to get over. Did you notice this before you got covid? Perhaps give it a week or too and if it's still there speak to a doctor?
Yes, I've had this, but before I started Fostair NEXThaler. I assumed mine was down to AERD & the usual symptoms that disrupt normal taste &/or sense of smell. But if you've had covid, it could be the culprit. There's quite a bit online about dysguesia with or after covid.
I used fresh parsley daily, munching on it to improve things. Also had a check up at the dentist to rule out gum disease etc. Otherwise, it was a waiting game and it eventually corrected itself, but it's not a nice thing to have.
Thanks Poobah. Yes I’m pretty certain it is due to Covid as it developed a week after diagnosis & I still have several other Covid symptoms now over two weeks in total. Although thankfully my chest feels better, the dysguesia is horrendous and feels really isolating. Just have a very bitter taste in my mouth continually & all food & drink tastes really bitter and vile. It’s really impacting me because instead of enjoying flavours it’s the total opposite with all food or drink causing distress & currently being limited to 3 foods that I can bear to eat.
