since being changed to Lufobec from Fostair , despite it having the same ingredients I have not stopped coughing with my asthma . I cannot take it without coughing. Is there anyone who has the same , or is there anyone for whom Lufobec actually works?

Lufobec not working for me - is it for you ?
I was exactly the same when they changed me over to it, it also caused me to get oral thrush. I was told that it’s exactly the same ingredients and that it’s saving the NHS money but something about it is obviously different, I had been on Fostair for years with no problems.
I explained all of this to one of the nurse practitioners and it got changed back again.
You are not alone in this. I had to change back to Fostair from Luforbec a few of months ago. My breathing was so bad I could barely walk from room to room in my flat. It's taken a while for everything to settle down again but now I'm much more comfortable.
I read somewhere that the mechanism of delivery isn't as good as the Fostair design (for the dry powder inhaler). The number of posts about this particular inhaler definitely highlights that there's something amiss. Talk to your GP or asthma nurse about your worsening symptoms and ask to be put back on Fostair.
thanks - I just did and what a difference ! She was unaware of the problem
A few people have raised concerns in previous posts
I mentioned before my issues with Luforbec because the metered dose mechanism has been faulty on several inhalers. It delivered a double dose in one puff and I couldn't inhale it. I went back on Fostair but couldn't stand the constant throat irritation, despite doing all the usual gargles etc. I'm now using the Luforbec inhaler in the Fostair container with no probs. Seeing resp nurse tomorrow to find permanent solution.
Do you use a spacer? I’ve used a spacer for years now and found it very beneficial.
Hi. Yes I do. I also gargle twice then drink some water afterwards. I've noticed some exacerbation of my asthma in the last week which I've put down to the central heating and less windows open. I'm going into recluse mode soon for fear of catching a cold etc, and the hell it brings. Merry Christmas!
since being changed from Fostair to Lufobec I have been wheezy, throat red and inflamed. I contacted Gp this morning and without hesitation they have re prescribed Fostair.
Earlier this year, I was switched from Fostair 200/6 to Luforbec and my asthma (that had finally become fairly stable) became ‘twitchy’ very quickly, causing near constant coughing on inhalation. Fortunately, my GP’s surgery had me booked for an asthma review (although I am still under the hospital’s consultant). The asthma nurse was wonderful and, when I mentioned that things had become a little destabilised since recently starting the Luforbec, she responded by saying that she had heard of numerous issues about the generic inhaler - and promptly issued me a prescription for two Fostair 200/6 inhalers (I use it as MART) and said that she would ensure that my monthly prescription would always contain it - and, definitely no generic meds in future.
