Hi Homely. I have two spacers with a mask with a blue inhaler inserted in each ready to use. I have one next to my bed and one hidden under the scatter cushions on “my” seat in the living room. In the event of an attack I use these, using the tidal method of breathing. When I am ok that is when I take my regular meds.
Yeah, I'd have thought it was easy to find too, but no, I can't find any links on their website, nothing in the menu for articles or anything else, if its on there then whoever runs their website needs to sort the website out, it's rubbish!
Hi Homely, Asthma is usually worse at night and mornings. I think keep a diary to how many days it’s happening? Is it new and regular thing?
It shows lack of control so you should make sure to get a review by either GP or hospital if you are with one. If you are still under GP care you may need a referral to hospital to have a full review of medication and to why it’s happening.
Perhaps you might need to wake up more slowly. Sit up and give yourself time to come to, as it were, before you think about inhalers. My breathing is always worse in the morning, but I can calm it (after about 10 minutes) enough to take the inhaler.
I’ve started taking an antihistamine tablet and getting my spacer ready. I found that after 10mins the attack is gone & my asthma is clear for 24hrs…the antihistamine tablet does a remarkable job for me, only thing is they make me so tired the next day.
