Fostair 100 not working been 2 lots o... - Asthma Community ...
Fostair 100 not working been 2 lots of steroids not helped now on Fexofenadine does it work?
That all sounds very frustrating for you. I'm not surprised you've been hit hard after being off for so long - like a massive new school year new germs onslaught thing. But the clashing of people who are supposed to be helping you isn't exactly helpful!
The fexofenadine should help if it's things like cleaning products or other allergens affecting your asthma as it's a pretty decent antihistamine.
Peak flow, do you track that regularly? If you do, how's that looking (compared with your best)? If not, it might be useful to do it twice a day (before am and pm Fostair) for a week or two and also before using your blue inhaler (and 15 mins after as well) as this might help to prove to your GP that it is your asthma. Sorry if you're already doing this/know all this - trying to think of a way to get them listening. It could be just a long recovery, like an ongoing post viral thing after your viruses, which is common in asthma and being at work isn't giving your body chance to recover (I know it well, I taught for 12 years before my health stopped me and constantly was just trying to be at work). But even so you need the professionals not butting heads!
Hi,
My asthma (usually fine) has been troublesome and out of control for a year. I think i've finally turned a corner...I'm on 2 x 200Forstair, seratide (anxiety was triggering asthma or visa versa). I take an anti reflux drug and Montelukast. I stay away from triggers - dust, feathers, animals. We don't light our wood burner anymore. Good luck x
Your GP can prescribe Fostair 200/6. It was an asthma nurse who recommended mine and GP just prescribed on her advice. There is a Stepwise guide for primary carers to help them step up asthma treatment. However, if the GP is reluctant but your consultant has mentioned it in past, it may be worth phoning your consultant's team to see if they'd be happy to drop an email to your GP asking him to prescribe Fostair 200/6. You'll probably speak to one of the nurses on the hospital team and I've always found them helpful.
Hi. It was my doctor that put me on Fostair 200 and Montelukast. I asked to be referred to a consultant and am still waiting for an appointment....
