Am I the only one to have a hard time breathing and flat out wheezing when I go under the sheets in bed or do other people do this ? Am I the only one?

I just want to know, is it just me?
I think most of us find asthma worse at night due to laying flat, less ventilation, allergies to ? bedding etc.
I had a real go at making my bedroom better for asthma, so new duvet, weekly 60 degree wash of sheets, mattress protector etc. Regular cleaning of room, removing lots of stuff from the bedroom. Air purifier in room.
It definitely helped.
I have problems laying flat my head can't be below my shoulders. I have always had 7 pillows to keep me upright until 2 years ago when I brought a new electric bed which has the head comes up now I have 2 pillows and can sit up all night and be comfortable.
Whilst I was hospitalised I was made to sleep upright. I have to admit it helped but I didn't find it easy!
For the last four years I’ve been sleeping in a recliner chair & use fleece blankets that are easier to wash than a duvet, it’s also easier to vacuum underneath. I do have an adjustable profile bed, but find the chair better. I use a garden recliner when we go on holiday.
I had exactly that when 1st diagnosed with asthma in my early 50s. When all was quiet I could hear this noise, I thought it was insects in the walls until one night I realised it was me! When dx I changed all my lovely goose down to hypoallergenic ones only years later discovered I wasn't allergic to dust mites. I dont think for one moment it's only you. Best see a GP .
Still might not have been a waste of time changing quilts - I’m not allergic to dust mites, but I’m definitely allergic to feathers…
When I was finally referred to a consultant (was very poorly with several bouts of pneumonia and endless infections) I had thorough allergy tests because it was suspected aspergillosis, I remember being quite worried it would turn out to be something to do with the precious chocolate Labrador, fortunately it wasn't. Mild allergy to aspergillus and high allergy to mould. Weirdly I've never lived with mould but the damp & cold is always a pain. I'm fine with goose down so been using the bedding again for years. You must find it tricky with so many pigeons and seagulls around.
I just don’t encourage them to sit on my shoulders 😊.
Avoiding feather pillows and henhouses generally seems to work, and luckily I don’t know anyone who keeps budgies!
are you perhaps a little under medicated? I’m very new to this so don’t take my advice but I’m finding a puff of ventolin at bedtime helps clear my nose as much as anything and helps me sleep fine. My daily meds are 200/6 Fostair x 4 plus Spiriva x 2 plus 5 steroid so clearly I’m not quite well or on a stable dose.
