Hi everyone

Firstly for some reason I had to click on join although I already an a member - I think as I'm doing it on my phone

Ok I have been hospitalised yet again for the 14th time over my oxygen levels dropping

I'm also hyperventilating as well which has been going on for a few weeks

This time the period of time has only been 3weeks since the last discharge ,prior to that I went 3 months.

Mum was staying overnight with me thankfully I slowly got out of bed & sat up then when I got up to stand my legs buckled & I slumped on the floor We had to get an emergency ambulance

I was supposed to be joining the ILD forum Teams meeting on Thursday so I've had to contact them to tell them I will be absent. This forum was recommended to me by one of the doctors at WYTHENSHAWE hospital Manchester & the harmonica classes .I've had to register my absence for this Thursday's class - 6th July so I'm disappointed

It's certainly a worry that you have been admitted so many times with your breathing. I should ask why there's a problem getting your oxygen levels upto a satisfactory level and why they keep dropping and if the medication is right for you. Hope you get some answers and feel better soon. Brian

It might be to do with my heart as when i had that procedure done in sheffield they said something abour an enlarged venricle i think todayv) 5/7)im having a blood test done later on today to see if theres a strain on my heart. I was told in resuss it was an infection so possibilty thats the reason. I cant believe irs so short aTim when prior to that i went 3 months & i thought i was doing well there

Are you on oxygen at home? There must be a reason. I have asthma but also reduced lung capacity from scoliosis deformity. I’ve had corrective surgery but once the ribs get deformed it can effect breathing later in life.

The Pulmonary Wellness Foundation offers education for anyone with a pulmonary problem including asthma. They also have webinars and FB group. Helped me a lot though I am a retired nurse anesthetist.

Yes I'm on home oxygen 6 litres when moving about -4 when at rest I spoke to one of the chest medicine specialist who works alongside my specialist & aske.d her view on raising it to 8 or even 10 litres moving about & 6 or ,8 litres moving about & I explained that the reason I was asking is moving about on 6 litres is still knackering Whenever I have a bad episode of a mix of coughing/ hyperventilating & it really has to be a bad one then I can take Oremorph but if it's the type that I can just calm it down alone then I don't take it because of the bad reputation morphine has & don't want to be addicted

Morphine will lower your oxygen saturation.
