Fobumix easyhaler

Hi all, I went to doctors today as been struggling with my asthma lately. I’ve been on Fostair 100/6 mart regime for so many years now, today he has put me on Fobumix easyhaler 320/9, 2 puffs a day. I know it’s a bit of a jump and is dry powder but was wondering if any body else uses this and how do you get on with it? And should I ask for a steroid card?

Also I been taking montelukast and loratadine 10mg for years and now he has added Fexofenadine 120mg on top .so I was also wondering how people get on with this drug too?

no. I now use Symbicort 200/6 Smart regime and it’s working well. Up from 100. I’ve stopped Montelukast and it’s made no difference to me! Sorry I can’t be more help.

Not tried Fobumix, but I get on surprisingly well with fexofenadine. I tend to develop immunity to antihistamines, and had previously built up to triple dose cetirizine but it stopped working. Switched to fexofenadine, still on the same dose, still working after three plus years. Doesn’t seem to make me sleepy, but I take it at bedtime anyway. Hope it helps you!

Thanks. Glad the Fexofenadine is still working for you.

can’t really comment on your meditation regime but steroid cards are obtained from your chemist. Suggest you speak to pharmacist to see if steroid card is required.

Hi, yea I just been to chemist to pick up new meds, I asked about the card and she said once I’ve been on it for 3 months then I should be carrying one and made note on computer.

Oh fair enough I guess. When I was put on a new medication straight away I had to get a steroid card but I assume your pharmacist is correct. Suggest you make a note on your calendar so you don’t forget.

Hope the new medication works well for you.

I am on Fostair 200 and I didnt realise you need to carry a steroid card, my asthma nurse has never mentioned it

I read it somewhere when I was reading up about my new inhaler so thought I’d ask the question. They said it’s recommended not compulsory but will give it. worth asking at chemist next time you go. Like you say no one tells you anything. My doctor was like I’m changing your inhaler there you go bye, when I asked questions he was very vague (got his back hander. Lol). So had to find info online myself.

I was taken from fostair 100 /6 mart up to 8 puffs, to fostair 200/ 6, 4 puffs

It did not work for me. I have found I need the fostair throughout the day periodically rather than just morning and night.

Fostair works better for me than salamol in calming the attacks and mart gives me 4 doses for attacks in the day.

Maybe it is also because I had gone from 8 x the 6 bit, to only 4 x the 6 bit.

Spiriva is very good for me, I have taken it for 4 months now. It seems to keep my airways open to some extent regardless of the strength of the attack.

So I have switched back to fostair 100 mart supported by spiriva and loratadine.

Best of luck with your change.
