Clenil switch to Luforbec

just been switched to Luforbec after years on Clenil to address night disturbance. Luforbec makes me feel uneasy, nervous and very anxious and has not improved night time symptoms. Never experienced such problems with Clenil but did when taking ventolin as a reliever.

Anyone else experienced anxiety and feeling very uneasy with Luforbec?

Luforbec is the equivalent of Fostair I believe. Some people do experience side effects that you describe and it's probably the long acting bronchodilator, Formoterol, causing the problems. Unlike Ventolin, Formoterol effects last up to 12 hours and is considered to be more effective.

If you do a search on this forum for Fostair you'll find quite a few posts about side effects. I didn't experience any but I was transferring from Symbicort, another inhaler containing steroids and a long acting bronchodilator (that just happened to be Formoterol).

If you're still struggling after 8 weeks then definitely see your doctor. Sometimes side effects lessen over time and by 8 weeks you'll know how effective it is for your asthma. But always follow the advice in the patient leaflet that comes with your medication, including advice about side effects.

many thanks for your very helpful response. Will give it another go and see if symptoms fade over time. Most disconcerting at the time and not conducive to driving.
