montelukast : hello been put on... - Asthma Community ...
montelukast
I have been taking Montelukast for a couple of years now with absolutely no problems. In fact, I have had no night time waking since I started on it.
I've taken Montelukast for years and the only side effect for me is the occasional vivid dream. Definitely helped in the asthma and nasal health department (polyps).
No side effects, but did not help my asthma
I’ve been taking it for a few years now with no problems.
My 5yr old grandson is on it with fantastic results
I’ve had no side effects , but it doesn’t seem to have helped either.
Been on Montelucast since 2005. No problems with it hope that it helps -good luck and let us know how you get on.
I dont really have any issues with them. Can I ask why you are worried about taking them?
I have been on it for many years. When I first started, my pulmonologist and I did not think that it was making a big difference in my asthma but when we stopped it, my sinuses started acting up. So for me, it helps with the the allergy component of my asthma. I do not have any side effects.
took montelucast for over 20 yrs it helps to open up the Airways takes about 2 to 3 hours to kick in hence take mine a couple of hours before bed
I've been on it for around 15 years - seriously changed my life for the better. Go into it positively and be thankful your GP is happy to prescribe it.
I was on it for two years. It did nothing at all for my asthma, but it did affect my sleep quality, not especially wakefulness, just not restful sleep, so I was very glad to stop it.
I took it for approximately 6m. Saw no difference in my asthma but caused my rosacea (skin condition) to flare up considerably. Sadly my GP did not pre-warn me of this. Obviously everyone’s experience is different.
Hi,
The only side effect I had was vivid dreams and daytime sleepiness, but it didn’t help my asthma.
It seems to affect people differently, think the only way is to try it and see if it helps you. 🤞
I had no side effects but it did not help my asthma. I swapped onto Theophyline which did help. When I was in hospital they changed me back onto Montelukast for no reason... except maybe the thinking that at that time (early 2019) it was considered better than Theophyline or maybe they make money from one and not the other... or maybe I am just a cynical woman with trust issues.😬
