Well I've finally surcumbed to the dreadded Covid. Day 3 of feeling not so good. I sent the rapid testing kit off today. I've rang my respiratory nurse, who said it was nothing to do with them as it's in the community. She said to ring my pharmacy to ask what extra support I needed... The pharmacy said they don't give antivirals like that any more, but I should have received my letter to say I was immunocomprimised and that I'd be getting antivirals, and that letter would have a direct telephone number on it. Well, this letter I can't find, I know I won't have thrown it out and put it in a safe place. Does anyone still have their letter with the number on it? Just feel I've gone round in a circle.

Covid
Try phoning 111 for advice. I was phoned directly by a hospital, after PCR to say I was eligible for antivirals.
Thanks Bevvy. I phoned them today, they were passing my details on to someone else... I'm still waiting. My respiratory nurse said good luck with them..
mine all went through automatically as soon as I submitted my positive result to the gov website. The text message says to call your GP or 111 if you don’t hear anything but it sounds as though you have now done that. Hope you hear quickly as the sooner you start taking them, the better they work. Hope you feel better soon.
nhs.uk/CoronavirusTreatments according to my email you should have been contacted direct but it seems to rely on the way you report your test! Good luck with 111
I just wanted to say that I think it's unfair that you are having to ring around all these places when you are ill and should be resting. How frustrating! Wishing you all the best with your recovery.
Ahh thank you. Just wanted my antivirals into me ASAP. I did get a call from the paramedics at 1.30am to say they'd pass me to the hospital where I'd get my antivirals... 🙄
I had to do the same as no one contacted me as promised in the guidelines. I wondered at the time how you would manage all the telephoning and waiting if you were really bad. Seems to depend on your local services as some people are contacted and treated with anti virals without prompting.
I rang 111 today at lunch to ask how long I've got to wait to be seen or get something delivered?? 24-48 hours after my 1.30am paramedic call.😬 Them the pharmacy about 35 mins away rang to say I qualified for Paxlovid! They would be delivered to me and I've just received them. What a job to get something that will stop me from getting worse..
Sadly the rapid testing system is no longer in place - I was told that when I caught Covid in October ! I registered my positive test on the NHS app and got a phone call the next day to confirm my eligibility- 3 or 4 courses of prednisone in the last 8 weeks and then I was phoned by the local team and invited to a portacabin in a car park to receive the intravenous antivirals. It is only effective if given within 3-4 days of first testing positive.
I had the paramedics on the phone at 1.38am to say they'd pass me to the hospital that would be dealing with my antivirals... This was off the back of my lunchtime 111 call. I did upload to the government Web site.
Hi I was also given '119' as a number to call. These links may be helpful. Hope you are on the mend soon. gov.uk/order-coronavirus-ra.... nhs.uk/CoronavirusTreatments. gov.uk/report-covid19-result This is the person who sent my letter:. Professor Stephen Powis, National Medical Director, NHS
Did you get your antivirals and how are you feeling now?
I am so relieved for you! What a palavar!
