Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has the same conditions as me. Over the last 14 months I've been hospitalised 5 times and treated with 300mls of hydrocortisone and antibiotics intravenously. As I have acquired adrenal insufficiency my poor body takes ah awful blow and when I come down from the steroids I seem to go into shock with terrible sweats and fatigue. During my last admission to hospital I was put under a very thorough Dr who diagnosed me with bronchomalacia and as there's no cure I've to take a lot of steroid inhalers and several other drugs to keep my airways clear.

Have just been diagnosed with bronchomalacia on top of asthma and adrenal insufficiency
Snap! I have severe asthma and adrenal insufficiency (bronchiectasis and aspergillosis too 🙄). It’s been a miserable year. My consultant also thinks I have bronchomalacia, but it can only be confirmed with a bronchoscopy, and as there’s no treatment for it he says it’s pointless taking the risks associated with it. It’s miserable isn’t it. When I’m weaning off steroids I do it VERY slowly, 5mg per week, which seems to avoid the withdrawal symptoms. What do you do?
Hi again, McMD. There’s another post about this on the Lung Conditions forum today, thought you’d be interested healthunlocked.com/asthmalu...
Hi, that does sound miserable! I can't help much with the rest but if you have adrenal insuffiency I hope that's being treated properly and you still have some steroids on board?
I wrote a post a while back about this which you may find helpful (and/or the replies and links): healthunlocked.com/asthmauk...
