Yes. I have ABPA, Allergic Bronchopulmonary Aspergillosis, is that the same as you? It’s gone into “remission” a few times since diagnosis (about 12yrs ago) but now it’s permanent. I’m on antifungals, itraconazole. I also have severe bronchiectasis. I’m on Xolair for asthma but sometimes it’s hard to tell which lung condition is making me ill at a particular time.
Ps maybe I should explain you can’t avoid aspergillus spores, they’re everywhere. But you should avoid dead vegetation, compost heaps etc and (essential) make sure there’s no mould in your house
l had to leave a job once because I was so allergic to their Timothy hay and the Aspergillus in it was rife making my asthma severe. Funnily enough I found over the years (horsey) the cleaner the hay the more allergic I was so could also be the pollen. But mould is one of my main triggers, have discovered Dettol mould spray, brill! Seem to have a mouldy house. Also got hangy things for wardrobe, amazing how much water they catch. So war on mould! Also Cetirizine helps my allergies which when bad give me asthma. 🦠
I was allergic to Itraconazole , went into heart failure. Went on to Variconazole found that excellent but side effects much hair loss and needed to cover up if outside regardless of weather, was successful though .
Was that the Variconazole ?
Yes I was diagnosed eventually 3 months ago after blood tests and High density CT scan. Just on my last day of steroids (3 months) feeling so much better but have to go back for repeat scans in March.
