Morning, over the last 3 or so weeks I have been waking up with a very sore and tight chest. Also feeling like I haven't slept properly. I have a smart watch that measures pulse ox and when I've looked at the overnight readings they have dipped very low during the night. I know these watches aren't 100% reliable but if it shows a big drop that's on the days where my chest feels very tight and sore.
Suppose my question is are these watches even a little bit reliable and should I see the gp? The tightness and soreness stops about an hour or so after I wake and have my inhalers etc... thanks

If I was in your shoes I would have a chat with my GP. Something is happening overnight to affect your asthma/breathing and it's best to try & address it sooner rather than later. It could be something like GERD, which can be helped by not eating near bedtime and adjusting your sleeping position and, if necessary, medication. However, you may have sleep apnoea, which affects our breathing pattern as we sleep and oxygen levels can drop as a result and makes you very tired as well as low in oxygen. It's not unusual to have both conditions. However, take your watch results with you in order to help your GP understand what's happening overnight in terms of your oxygen levels. All the best.
do you know if you snore? Perhaps see if you can set your phone recording an audio recording over night. If it is snoring you can play the recording to your GP and describe what you have written in the post.
I have both a smart watch and a oxymeter. My Oxymeter was given to me by my spesialist and he told me how to us it and what to do with the numbers displayed. If I suspect that my watch is not giving me correct figures I can I am able to check with my oxymeter.. Having said this I always consult with firstly my asthma nurses who are superb and they would rather I phone them everyday than end up in A&E {Horrible Hotel] To sum up if In was you I would start making a record of your sleep patern[ There is an app to seee if you have sleep apnoea] aA morning and night peak flow Pulse and Oxygen levels and if you have one morning and night blood pressure. I do this time consuming task if I start to feel my unpredicable asthma flair ups. It helps the medics and impresses them with your documentions and it does mean that you dont have to thnk how you have been over a certain lenght of time, and they cant argue with written documentations
