Change of Inhaler

Hello, can anyone help please? My doctor has moved me from a symbicort 100/6, one puff twice a day to Clenil Modulite, one puff twice a day. Has anyone has had a similar change and if so, what are the pros and cons please?

Did your doctor give you a reason for the change?

I moved from Symbicort to Clenil because the former was making my asthma worse not better!

Hi Mandevilla, no not really I just got a message from the surgery that because I had reduced my dosage from 2 puffs twice a day to 1 puff twice a day and had not needed my ventin inhaller for 9 months, he would change me over. I just thought I would ask on here before going back to him as trying to get an appointment is really difficult. Thanks for your response.

If I just need to double check something or ask the GP about changing my dose, then I usually just get a phone call - it might be worth seeing if your GP surgery does this. Meanwhile, if you're concerned, you could try calling the Asthma UK helpline - I've always found the asthma nurses on the helpline really helpful, especially when I'm not getting any sense from my GP surgery!

Thanks Mandeville, I hadn't thought of contacting Asthma UK. I will do that. Thanks again 😀
