Has anybody had failure with biologics ie you have had no success with any of them?

Had mepo and fasenra - sadly not responded to either. Waiting to start on xolair but after seven years not that hopeful.

I am still working full time - but not sure for how much longer.

Hi Madbiker1I am sorry that Mepo and Benra have not been useful for you.

I have been on Benra for two years and it has helped massively so I guess I don’t have any real advice there - sorry!

However do you have eos asthma? Or allergic - as in high IgE? Or both?

Obviously the Mepo and Benra are aimed at eos asthma and the Xolair at IgE .. so you might get better results from Xolair if your asthma is mainly allergy driven. You would have thought though that your hospital team would have given you the most relevant option first?!

There is another biologic Dupilumab coming onstream atm which I think is more useful for people who suffer both eos and IgE asthma so maybe this will be your ‘magic bullet’ !

Good Luck - I hope it is sorted soon🤞🤞😊

Hi madbike1, I had an allergic reaction to a biological, was not the best I must admit, sort of gave up on anything for my asthma, but am now on a different biological which seems to be working well. Hope that they find a solution for you! 🙂

been on Mepo for a few months but decided to stop it as it causes muscle weakness, in particular makes my legs feel very shaky. the clinic insist this is not a side effect of Mepo and have given up on me! just had a cortisol blood test to see if it is the effects of occasional Pred use in the past. It also didn't help breathing but was glad of reduction in mucous production.

I last week had my 2nd injection of Fasenra (Benralizumab) however since the first injection I have been unable to sleep at all until either 5:30am or 6:00am. My brain is not tired at all, no matter what I do in the day my brain is highly alert switched on awake when it should be asleep as my body is exhausted and aching head to toe in my bones and joints. And not sure if all this is side effects of the benra injections so far. 3rd injection coming up in June. Am eosinophilic asthmatic. It has stopped constant coughing, but made me more wheezy and breathless plus the other stuff mentioned. I feel a wreck. Any advice?

oh dear. I was afraid of that. I do not have a coughing problem. I remember one of the inhalers, Spiriva, kept me awake all night. there's nothing worse is there. just try one more and see what happens. I am rapidly losing interest in it all!

hi, I am going to try Fasenra after stopping Nucala due to muscle aches. the drs won't accept the connection. as I am still suffering from the Nucala, would love to know how you get on with your third injection of B.
