Hi LevansI started on the Fostair 100/6 and found it very good. I was then put on the 200/6 which stabilised things for me. Because I was stable I was reduced back to 100/6. Two courses of prednisone later I was put back on 200/6 and haven’t had an attack since.

At certain times of year my peak flow still takes a dip but I have now been told I can take extra when this happens.

For me, it has been great - wouldn’t want to change it but there have been others who just can’t get away with it.

All I can say is, if that is what you have been prescribed then give it a try.

I was on Symbicort 200/6 for at least 10 years but despite taking the max allowed it didn't control my asthma sufficiently well and I was very reliant on my Ventolin rescue inhaler. So I was put on Fostair 100/6 which was so much better but that graduated to Fostair 200/6 and that worked extremely well.

Fostair has smaller particles and I believe that's what makes it slightly more potent/effective as it can go further into the lungs (according to my asthma nurse).

But if that's what your doctor has prescribed then definitely try it for the minimum of 8 weeks (it will take that long to build up to its optimum affect). And after 8 weeks have a chat with your doctor or asthma nurse about your progress and if you need to adjust the dose.

I haven't had any side effects from Fostair and I've now been taking it for almost 3 years.

Hi. As others have said the fostair has smaller particles which go deeper into the lungs and help to control asthma. I have a fostairnexthaler 100/6 which I take 2 puffs 2xa day. I’ve been much better health wise since changing to it but I know others haven’t so give it a couple of months trial. I have started bruising easily since taking it which may be down to long term steroid use x
