Phage therapy

Does anyone have any experience of phage therapy please? It was covered in a BBC programme a couple of years ago that was presented by Angela Ripon but is no longer available on iPlayer. A lady who had bronchiectasis said it was really helping her. The clinic in Tiblisi sounds very interesting and I wondered if any sufferers of lung complaints have tried it.

It is really interesting isn't it, I recall the programme.I'm guessing big pharma companies here in UK and US would be dead against it while they make billions on the drugs we need.

Try putting Phage in the search bar to see what comes up and also look in the 'Related Posts ' to the right (or scroll down on a phone).

Thanks for the tip! I think I might try sending a sputum sample to the clinic in Tiblisi first before I book a trip although I’m told its a fabulous city to visit.

Thanks very much. My problem started a few years back, literally the day after a spa visit. I sat in an outside heated pool I with friends on a cold November day with my head literally in a cloud of steam for maybe an hour. I started coughing the very next day. A NHS respiratory consultant told me to keep away from hot tubs, pools etc saying they don’t use ENOUGH chemicals these days to kill all the bacteria. It has either triggered an allergic reaction, which can be controlled if I take prednisolone for bad outbreaks, or just maybe I have now a deep seated bacterial infection which doesn’t show up on standard NHS tests. Hence my curiosity about phages!
