You need to contact gp for appointment because symptoms not cleared. May need more antibiotics. Then can ask re Covid jab. Need emergency/urgent gp appointment.Am doubtful they will do jab because you unwell.

Nurse told me to wait a week after antibiotics then go for vaccine. Ive had calls a letter and texts about vaccine just bombarded with urgency to have vaccine fed up with it all like everyone else. Will try and get an appointment but thats a miracle in its self. Thanks for your reply. Stay well.

Tell them is urgent - because it is! If you need more antibiotics then any gap between doses run the risk of making your illness far worse.Getter better soon.

This might help:Is it safe to have the COVID-19 vaccine if you are taking antibiotics? Will both treatments work?

Yes, it is safe.

The COVID-19 vaccine helps your body’s immune system to identify the coronavirus, which enables you to fight it off more quickly and effectively. The vaccine essentially ‘trains’ your immune cells to identify, attack and kill the virus.

Antibiotics, on the other hand, are used to kill bacteria that are causing an infection in your body. This means that your antibiotics should have no impact on the coronavirus or the vaccine, and the vaccine should have no impact on your bacterial infection (if you have one) or your antibiotics.

If you have any immediate medical concerns about your health or your treatment, please contact your GP or healthcare provider. If you would like support and information related to an antibiotic-resistant infection, you can reach out to our Patient Support Service who will be happy to listen and help.

I think the vaccine is contraindicated if you are acutely unwell with fever etc.

I'm on a 4 month course of antibiotics and was able to have the vaccine.

Thankyou. Feel better knowing you can still have vaccine on antibiotics from someone in the same boat. Was told by Gp had to wait a week after finished them, could do with more but trying desperately to stay off at least a week to get vaccination. Will book appointment. Thanks again.
