Any one else had a text message from doctor about needing to carry a steroid emergency card?

Steroid emergency card
Yes there have been many discussions on here about it - if you put "steroid cards" into the search thing they should come up 🙂
I have one, it’s a small piece of cardboard which is already going tatty in my phone case lol
You should have one and keep it on you, you need to keep hold of it for quite a while after you stop taking steroids. I wasn’t given one after I was prescribed steroids by a hospital consultant, I discovered I needed one on here.
I asked at a local branch of the hospital based pharmacy I got my prescription from, told them I hadn’t been given one by the in hospital branch - and eventually they gave me my little blue card.
Not sure what the fuss about giving it to me was - I mean is there some sort of black market among the elderly for blue cards? Fortunately I got one in the end. So yes, you need one and should have been given it when you collected your first prescription from the pharmacy.
Hi - everyone who takes steroids should be issued with the new NHS Steroid card which is red and has replaced the blue one. The new card details emergency guidance for treatment in the event of an Adrenal Crisis. You can download the new card via this link -
