I've replied on your other post but have mentioned the steroid inhalers on there.
Really poorly at the mo might have to call 111
In that case I hope you have called them - feeling one should is usually a sign they need to. If it is asthma you have (and testing the medications given is how they often work this out, even before Covid response to medications was a diagnosing factor), then it will be flaring up because the inflammation needs settling - long term this is through the brown inhaler.
I've been on steroid inhalers for over 50 years and have never experienced eye or tummy problems as a result. In the main, the meds are delivered unto the lungs where they are needed. Steroid tablets, taken full time, over a similar period probably would have caused problems as they are a much higher potency and absorbed in the digestive system and delivered throughout the body, thereby affecting the eyes and tummy. I've had steroid tablets on and off since I was 5 yo and still haven't had the side effects you highlight.I know one thing, if it wasn't for steroids I wouldn't be here now. They form the main plank of preventative asthma treatment and are taken by millions of asthmatics worldwide.
Gastritis is horrible but has many potential causes, from bacterial infection to stress. Aspirin and similar meds can trigger an attack of gastritis if the patient has a sensitivity to aspirin. If you do have gastritis again then it would be important to find out what your triggers are. But if this was your first bout of gastritis and given your age, it's not something that you're susceptible to.
what eye drops do you use for glaucoma?
Thank you for replying. I've started the clenil 200 and hope it'll calm things down. Having PND has I think aggravated my already sore tubes from the gastritis. Plus anxiety issues don't help. It's impossible to see my GPs Asthma nurse but Asthma UK nurse has been really good. Just a case of trying stuff I suppose as think my issue is a cough variant Asthma and always has been. Appreciate your feedback. Thank you 😀
Yes asthma uk and nurses are brilliant. Take care x
