Update and sheilding letter

Hi everyone and hope you are all well😊just an update. I still have not received a sheilding letter and wondered if anybody else is still waiting for a letter?

I spoke to occi health today and they do say they need the letter as proof but to speak with my boss which I have already done even though the doctors say I'm in the CEV group. I explained that the gov advice is that if you can't work from home then not to go to work, I'm just hoping that the letter arrives soon. Sorry for having a moan it's so frustrating when the gov say one thing and HR say another 😁

I received email and letter some days ago.

Why don’t you ring gp surgery to check you not been moved off shielding list. Am aware that some people have been moved and don’t know!

Hi

I rang the doctors today to check and they say that I'm still on that list, just hope letter arrives I think it's all very confusing. Thank you for replying and hope you are well 😊

I haven't had either a letter or email though my sister's had both. Rang my GP and, because my asthma's poorly controlled at the moment, I've been told to stay at home ( I work at a school).

Hi

I hope you are ok and sending you best wishes. I hope we receive our letters soon 😊 I work in care so very difficult to social distance and I'm always anxious even though I wear a mask. I wonder if they go off where you live?

You only really need it for your employer, nothing new in it πŸ˜€

Mine came yesterday too! I thought maybe I wasn’t on the list this time round! But for those who haven’t received them yet it’s annoying as we are almost half way thru lockdown...

Hoping I get something soon as well. Know I should def still be in the shielding group as permanently on prednisolone and hospitalised approx every 3 weeks with bad attack and needing 400mg hydro per day when in. Got text and let really promptly in March but nothing now!

The letter is only advice, only useful if you need it for work πŸ˜€

I've had my email but no letter has arrived yet. I know the postal system isn't 100% at the moment and I'm averaging one delivery a week (I live in a city too). The lead-in time to this 2nd lockdown was very short so my guess is that letters were sent after it started and most government bulk letters are printed and sent by private contractors, which just delays things unnecessarily in my experience.

You can ask occupational health or your employer to write to your GP if they are being impatient.

Strangely, though I've yet to receive anything from the government, I have now received a letter from my County Council to say I've been identified as clinically extremely vulnerable and should be receiving a letter from the government shortly! It gives all the advice we should be following and says to stay at home if we can't work from home. At least I've got something official now just hope it's acceptable if work ask πŸ™„

I received the email from Gov and council within 12 hours. I got my Gov letter today but haven’t yet got the council letter (assuming I will if you have being norfolk based also πŸ˜‰πŸ˜‚). Things are coming. Just slowly. But hopefully not as slowly as last lockdown 🀣

I finally received a letter this morning .. no email as I suspect they may not have my email address ... was getting worried though as I may need it for work .. not that anything has changed I’ve been lucky to be working from home since March .. but not able to do my substantive frontline role .. so living in borrowed time I think with my job !!! πŸ™ˆπŸ™„... wander if the vaccine may get some of us back to work !!!!!

Just had a lovely chat with my asthma nurse (she's ringing every few days at the moment) who said not to worry about the letter, I'm definitely on the list, the County Council letter should be fine but if not they'll print me out one. Such a relief! Just needed to let people know who would understand! 😁

Hi there 😊

I totally understand you and your letter will come, they seem to be coming at different times and think it's been a frustrating and confusing time. I'm glad that the asthma nurse rings you that's really lovely, it's so important to reach out and I think you are all lovely on here and have been of great support πŸ˜€
