How to drive and go out when inhalers don't help ?

My asthma attacks cannot be controlled by inhalers,I must use a nebuliser. However, that makes it very hard for me to drive and go out.In my city,I haven't found any portable nebulisers which can be used in the car. Those are much smaller than regular nebulisers anyway.

Anybody else in a situation where inhalers are no use and nebulisers must be used.Any suggestions ? Thanks.

In the main, nebuliser machines are not prescribed for home use in the UK to treat asthma due to the higher levels of meds compared to a reliever inhaler. It can mask deteriorating asthma which requires hospital treatment. Taking nebs on a regular basis may impact your cardiac health.

I've never seen a nebuliser smaller than a shoe box. And if my asthma was bad enough to require nebs I wouldn't be out & about, let alone driving. It sounds like you really need to see a specialist in order to bring your asthma under control long term through more considered treatment.

I got a tiny travel nebulizer on Amazon (just look up "travel nebulizer" and pick one with good reviews!) and it has been awesome to bring with me on trips etc. just to be on the safe side. The bag is just a bit bigger than my hand but the nebulizer is powerful and works just about as well as the one I have that plugs into the wall. The key thing is to always pack it with plenty of albuterol tubes and batteries.

The only time I ever had to use it was when I had an asthma attack while traveling in Russia and when I went to turn it on, I realized the batteries had died so I had to wander around trying to find an open shop to buy batteries for about an hour while feeling miserable.
