Agree with Frazzle - peak flow is personal and the age related expectations are often irrelevant. As is whatever anyone says they can get (eg "yours is better than mine so it's good").
This post is brilliant and will tell you all you need to know about peak flow!
😁 important posts should jump out when people post relevant queries 😂
I’m still confused even though I read that post I was getting between 290 and 400
They did get higher and I feel it is asthma xx
Symptoms are as important as peak flow, moreso for some people. Frazzle is right in that variation in readings common.
Do you have a blue inhaler? If you do then do your peak flow before using it (when symptomatic) and then again 15 mins after using your blue inhaler. These readings are also useful for nurse/GP.
Peak flow means nothing for me.
Just search EmmaF91 and go through her posts easiest way to find link x
Peak flow charts are just averages. I’mif your lungs are slightly smaller than average then you’ll never hit that 440. My lungs are huge and strong and when I’m healthy I’m way off the charts: female, 5’6”, 74 years old.
I'm glad you've said this because this is why the "expected" peak flows on the charts one can Google are not always useful - yet often people think they're the only thing needed.
