Hi Tweetiepie, you do not necessarily need to be tested in order to be treated. I began treatment and was tested about a month later.
If you are still experiencing problems, which it sounds like you are, have a chat with your GP. He may be able to prescribe you something else.
It would also be a good idea to keep a record of your peak flow. This will help you and your GP to keep track of how you are getting on.
Definitely talk to your GP and say that you are having the difficulties you describe above. If it's affecting your ability to carry out day to day chores or work then make that clear too. This should help the doctor to decide to prescribe meds to help you with the symptoms.
Make sure that a follow up appointment is made so that you can discuss the efficacy of the meds - say six weeks after initial consultation. This will give the doctor an opportunity to change the prescription if necessary.
Don't suffer in silence and always discuss symptoms & their effect on your life with your GP. All the best.
Hi I have spoke to a GP who says they cant test me yet but she gave me Fostair and Ventolin been using it for a month now and they had to increase my dosage of Fostair which seems to be helping some days I would just like the test so I know I have defiantly got asthma .
