Just wondering if anyone else is starting to suffer with hayfever symptoms. I'm down in Cornwall and starting feeling it in my throat and my eyes are starting to feel a little itchy. I've not really been in contact with anyone other than the chap at the click and collect, so don't think it's a cold or worse.

The Dreaded Hayfever
Yes I've noticed the symptoms starting. Have a good night and take care of yourself 😊 Bernadette xx
Thank you, you too
Yes it's the hayfever season been on antihistamines for about a week now hope you feel better soon .
Yeah I’m glad I got some pills! Thanks and you too!
Yes I have been taking my hayfever meds for awhile now and has also flared my asthma up.
I started with hay fever about 2-3 weeks ago !
Yes - familiar chest tightness that seems to be the hallmark of pollen, even though my blood test showed I was much more allergic to house dustmites and mould it seems to be the pollen that gets me pretty bad ever since last summer. Now on Montelukast and Fexofenadine 180mg which seemed to do the trick last summer after a load of prednisolone. The montelukast definitely seems to make a big difference. On day 3 of a 3 day course of prednisolone I was prescribed and feel better during the day but not in the evenings and gearing myself up for potentially getting some more today from GP or 111 over weekend - sometimes 111 are much better than the GP but sometimes not. It’s not that I really want to take them as side effects are grim but want to make sure I get on top of it now as the pollen will increase. Asthma UK always said to me that the adult dose is 7 days on 8 tablets. But the GP surgery nurse didn’t want to do that because of Coronavirus. Spent the whole of last summer having drama with GPs not wanting to give me the standard dose and me ending up in A&E. Ah the joys of trying to get people to help you with your asthma! Will get there in the end
Yep. I'm in Somerset and I noticed symptoms started kicking in a few days ago, including tight chest and breathlessness. I started taking antihistamines a couple of weeks ago, so hopefully they'll kick in soon.
Yes I have had some symptoms for a couple of weeks- fuzzy head, eyes not right, coughing more , stuffy nose and some sneezing x
Inside or outside? Is it molds? If you're hypersensitive to molds it really complicates other RAST tests. If you're sensitive to molds you would be sensitive to bacteria, as these are simular. The cell is different, the proteins on the outside the immune system sees as the same.
So things not to breathe:
Molds, bacteria, virus, dust (these all cohabitate together. Large sources of these are found in water damaged buildings, carpets, drains, sometimes sinks, showers, window sills, fly screens, HVAC system, CLUTTER, lack of airflow, there are quite a few things to balance in one's environment. It's not easy, think fish tank, think terrarium)
Pollens
Cockroach droppings, mouse droppings, all sorts of stuff entirely inseparable to the microbes above.
So your primary likely source are microbes. If it is then the person is considered chemically sensitive. Microbes emit chemicals and actually do chemical warfare. We use them as biological agents.
So short answer. Critically clean environment. Avoid wetter area with low air movement where possible. Dilution is your friend. Get one way sleeves for drains or even cover with an upside down bowl to reduce emissions. Plugs down when not in use.
If only outdoor... Which if it was episodic, will have been a passing environmental sensitivity.
I live in a first floor flat, so have managed to have a window open or the door open for a small periods of time. I do suffer with mould, it's a horrible trade off because I have electric heaters which are so expensive to run, but thankfully it's getting warmer now.
Noticed tightness of chest and breathlessness about 2 weeks ago. It’s hayfever season again. Trying beconese nose spray. Doc says give it a month. Only 2 weeks so far. Fingers crossed
Exactly the same. Start sneezing and coughing people think you have the dreaded virus. The trees are starting to blossom and that starts me off.
I’m in Cornwall too and struggling to breathe. Constantly dripping nose too, oh joy!
Think we need some Roddas in us!
I’ve noticed hay fever symptoms this week. The council have cut the grass on the field across the road from me.
Yes Fostair increased and Beconase prescribed!
