Can I drink herbal tea (usually chamomile) with Montelukast Chewable?

The NHS <nhs.uk/medicines/montelukast/> says:

"It's important to take chewable tablets at least 1 hour before food, or 2 hours after food. This is so the medicine is absorbed into your body properly.

Chewable tablets can be chewed or sucked. You or your child can have a drink of water or squash afterwards."

Can I have herbal tea instead? It helps me sleep!

Thanks :)

I never even thought about it. - I have a cuppa herbal or normal. Doesn’t seem to effect either the efficacy of either the chewable or non chewable montelukast.

I am not a medical person - just taken this for several years and never considered fluids to be a concern.

Your pharmacist will be able to advise you on this one. Or you could check directly with the manufacturer. They usually have a list of meds on their website with links to webchat. GSK certainly do and it's an immediate way to get info.
