Personal I would not risk but there might some where you can get information on the hot spots for this virus

Absolutely not.

Firstly, do not put yourself in the situation where you may need to rely on a stressed, foreign healthcare service... especially if you have asthma.

Secondly, you may find yourself unable to return if passenger ferries become restricted.

Thirdly, events are progressing extremely quickly. Just one week is an eternity ago in this pandemic.

Honestly, anyone considering travelling abroad right now needs their head examined.

My thoughts exactly I’m not one to stockpile pasta at the first talk of an illness or to let things stand in my way but it’s got to a point where it is a thing I need to be careful of and I can’t ignore it! France is the 5th worst country in the world for case count and second in Europe...

Yes exactly. This is a serious situation and people need to treat it with respect. Please refuse to go to France. Now is not the time.

France will still be there in the future and there are some stunning locations in the UK.

Absolutely not. I’ve just cancelled a trip to Spain this weekend. It’s my fear of ending up seriously Unwelll in a foreign hospital, at this point in time that did it for me

I'm not going to a comedy gig this weekend in order to avoid risk and I certainly wouldn't be travelling to a different country.

Stuff the money lost, your wellbeing is priceless and you now have control to make a positive decision to avoid unnecessary risk. You also have access to a known and trusted support system if necessary.

We've seen how foreign governments have washed their hands of tourists when dealing with the Covid-19 threat - and we're at a stage now where we can decide not to put ourselves in that situation. It's not an unknown, it's a certainty.

Don't go.

Me too. Had tickets booked to 2 comedy events this week. Simply put, risking my life is not worth the price of the tickets.

I've been in the same dilemma Lozzie, I've been thinking about driving to family in Sth of France, in my own car in the tunnel so not mixing with others. Have decided not to take the risk. Be brave and say "no, not on this occasion". Aren't people supposed to self isolate when they return from travel to more affected country? Be very careful when they return!

I live in France just outside Paris and am only leaving my apartment to pick up veggies and other absolute necesseties and wearing a scarf over my face + spraying copious amounts of rubbing alcohol on my hands after leaving each place.

I'd play it safe and stay home, in particular given what golden retriever said above--our hospital system is stressed and if you had any kind of asthma flare up that would not be good.

Take good care, stay safe everyone!
