hi anyone else getting got over haemophilus influenzae and /or moraxella catarrhalis?

Just finished second course of amoxiclav in a row last tablet was last night (9th course antibiotics in total since last August). still have very slight wheeze on and off and bringing up (not coughing anything up it just comes from throat now and again 2 or 3 times a day, its mostly clear phlegm very slight ting in colour or sometimes its like a cream colour. all signs looking good but im still aware of how it feels inside bit like my asthma symptoms but slight like my air ways slightly inflamed.

Just wondering if sounds like im getting over it so going to feel some symptoms still (had it over 2 and half yrs) so is this the end of it, or am i feeling what im feeling cos it hasn't gone hmmmm.

I suppose time will tell just asking how others felt after getting rid of it.

ps my asthma has been well controlled since I was 20 (now 46) and put on montelukast and steroid inhaler. wheeze is intermittent but I have always thought the wheeze was the phlegm on chest as when i clear the phlegm the wheeze goes. the doctor did say could have phlegm still for up to 4-6 weeks (just desperate for this to finally go hoping someone will say all signs are good even tho I have slight symptoms still. Also very frightened with all this coronavirus talk will these bacterial infections have weakened my lungs having this all this time do people think ? . thank you for any advice given. :)

I have haemophilus, it has colonised my lungs so can’t be successfully treated. I’m on antibiotics all the time now. Amoxyclav 3 weeks then Doxycycline 3 weeks, which are the antibiotics shown my infection is sensitive to. It does improve my chest, but I’m never without a productive cough and on 02 as needed, especially when I’m active!

Hi Dietrech oh not good I feel for you, Im wondering if im the same had it so long. as I said ive had 9 courses of antibiotics now, but cos had this since june 2017 just feels like its in there for good, each course i think maybe this one. (still hoping this one has done it) but if i laugh i cough bring stuff up or as u say if was active always been the case for me . since finishing this course Ive still got wheeze intermittently, phlegm varies pale green/cream , today been clear (so far ). but i have felt better but then i wasn't getting over 2 infections then just the haemouphilus. I am still hoping/possibly kidding myself that last of it coming out and maybe this time. can but hope eh.

We’re a bit unlucky I’d say! I’ve got an immunity problem, so have always had frequent chest infections along with lifelong asthma, and now have Bronchiectasis too! Good fun, I don’t think! 🥰
