To Much Medication !!

All the pills and inhalers I use make me quite nauseous at times. Does anyone have any secret remedies to overcome this.

Would much appreciate any advice.

For me it depends on which drugs. I have some that I am ok if I take after food, others before, others it depends on timing with other meds (ie azithromycin is taken 30 mins post and antiemetic etc). My mornings are a juggling act if I was 0 nausea on certain days but I’ve managed to mostly sort it 😅.

Other than that I incorporate ginger into morning diet (ie if I’m in a rush I’ll sort myself a ginger tea/lemon and ginger infused water)

Hi Emma,

Thank you, clearly ginger is the answer as redstar advised this as well.

Plenty of ginger products available, although I like the idea of ginger infused water.

More ginger ideas: my health food shop recommended ginger tincture - a few drops in water, or added to a hot drink (originally suggested for a friend pregnant with twins, so very nauseous!); they also had chewy ginger sweets called Gin-Gins (no gin involved, sadly), which were useful when I was somewhere I couldn't make a drink. As an alternative, I also find peppermint tea very calming for the digestive system - shop around, as different varieties have very different flavours (I like Hambleden Herbs, but they're not always easy to find). Hope things improve for you.

Hi, thank you for your reply.

Ginger seems to be the go to thing, I bought some ginger and lemon tea today and also some ginger biscuits and certainly feel much less nauseous.

I will have to visit my health shop next time I am in town about the ginger tincture . I’ve seen peppermint tea in the supermarkets so will give it a try.

Try spacing them out so you don't take everything at once. When you have a review of your medications, see if you can drop or reduce anything, or replace the worst sickmakers!

Strangely I find that mint makes things worse for me 🙄

I too will look for some ginger things. I drink ginger tea in the evenings, I find Pukka Three Ginger or Pukka Ginger and manuka honey are the best. But I’ll look for things that I can chew when not able to make a drink. I feel nauseous every evening, it’s tiresome. It’s been going on for months so I have to think it’s from the medications rather than something I’m eating.

Hi,

I tried ginger and lemon tea yesterday and that helped. I also bought a packet of ginger biscuits for when I wasn’t able to make a drink.

The biscuits have quite a strong taste, but no nauseous yesterday, just don’t know if it was the tea or the 2 biscuits I had.
