I started Fostair 4 weeks ago (100/6). No racing heart or shaking but horrible headache after each dose. Mine is dry powder.

All OK after about 10 days as headaches subsided.

My asthma nurse explained that Fostair has smaller particles and that may account for the side effects.

I persevered as my asthma improved.

The only meds that get my heart racing is Ventolin in high doses.

I guess we're all different and maybe a change to another inhaler would suit.

Hi I use Fostair nexthaler 200/6 2 puffs twice a day. It does give me the shakes in my hands straight after I take it but it wears off quickly. I have been talking it for two years plus.

I mention this side effects to my then consultant said not to worry about it. So I don't.

My advice is go back to your doctors straight away and say you are having these side effects.

I have questions for you.

1. Is this a new inhaler?

2. Do you if so have your old one? If so use that until you see your doctor.

If you can't see your GP ring asthma UK helpline. 0300 222 5800

Hi,

I had similar side effects that took a long time to wear off. The shakes were so bad that I could pick anything up or sleep.

I have been given Montelukast tablets instead to be used alongside my old brown inhaler. This has been much better for me.
