Chest infection

Just back from docs had a chest infection chest still wheezy so another week of steroids. Feeling really tired and crap been off work since thursday, the doc seemed surprised I'm not back at work. Is this normal to be this knackered I feel noone understands how hard it is. Any thoughts x

Hi. Sorry to hear your still not good.

It’s completely normal to be feeling tired and crappy after a flare. I am still getting over an issue from 3 weekends ago, pushed it too far yesterday and lungs have taken a step backwards since then (hoping it’ll all calm without me needing to do more). Take the time you need and you should be feeling better when the chest has cleared and wheeze has calmed down. Think of it like your lungs/heart are running a marathon even when you’re just sat still... that’s very tiring!

Love your last sentence Emma. It's a very good explanation of how those of us with chronic lung disease feel too.
