Anyone else get cravings for cardboard food when breathing is a bit off? I’m not taking pred so I can’t blame that. I normally eat very healthy meals but as the PF drops or I’m wheezing regularly it’s burgers all the way. Either that or I don’t want to eat at all! It might be because it’s “easy” calories for the body and it needs to put more energy into breathing.

Junk Food Cravings
Yes me too, I reckon it's because I just haven't got the energy 😟
Glad it’s not just me.
Nope, I also crave really easy calories when I’m struggling! Sugar and carbs for energy haha - a weird one is spicy rice with cheese 😂
Yep, that’s a weird one!😀 I’m not too bad today although I’m down to 70% PF, it’s just not heading in the right direction. Lungs you need to go up not down! I really need to go shopping and get some decent food but I just haven’t got the energy. Repeat after me JungleChicken “you will not go to McDonalds drive through” I’m avoiding the trip to GP unless I get really bad (PB=485, so bad = 300, actually for me 300 is in trouble!)
I think it’s because I made it a few times when I was really unwell last summer because it was all I had the energy to make 😂 so now I associate it with being unwell and comfort eating
I don't crave anything. Hubby poor man has to make me eat. Just had the low peak flow again 61%+ So eventually back on the oral steroids. So for me is quick can't be bothered food, but not junk food.....Ice cream helps 🍦
When I'm under the weather ie got a cold, chesty, cough I find I eat everything in sight. I don't put weight for 3/4 days; so that says to me I need more calories to fight virus. I usually limit sweet & processed foods in the house, so turn to bread and jam!! But I do lose any weight easily when better, as my metabolism resets itself. So no guilt trip when I'm ill.
Maybe the next time I have ice cream I’ll be more adventurous!😄 Did have cherry flavour once and went to an ice cream parlour that only made chocolate on weekends????. Had to have mint choc chip.
