It was recommended to me that I purchase a dehumidifier to try and ease my night time coughing. Any one tried this already?

Diagnosed with CVA

I have a dehumidifier which I haven’t used since being diagnosed with asthma, but I can give you some pointers on things to look out for:
Dehumidifiers can be noisy, either noise when operating, when auto-switching on and off (a dull clunk sound on some), or from dripping noise.
Make sure the water receptacle is big enough so that you aren’t having to empty it too often.
And obviously, it has to be able to switch itself off when the right level of humidity has been reached, or you will be emptying the water too frequently and paying to dehumidify the UK.
Make sure to check reviews on Amazon.
Asthma aside, with the dehumidifier on, I felt *much* more comfortable sleeping in humid weather. I now have aircon throughout my dwelling.
All the best. I hope someone else can give you the information you wanted, but I think it’s pretty sure that if humidity affects your asthma, a dehumidifier will help you.
