Bronchiectasis and asthma night time cough

Just to make sure I am not missing anything. I am pretty much symptom free in the day, but when I go to bed lie down I start to cough. My now husband says you never you used to be like this when we were going out, but I did. I don’t think things have got worse and feel there is nothing much I can do re night time cough. It settles after about 10-20 minutes. I know it is my lungs emptying of mucus.

Sometimes I feel he thinks I am doing it on purpose.

This may sound a bit strange but if I lie on my left, I cough. I am much better if I lie on my right with my left knee bent and resting on a pillow. I also have mild bronchiectasis in both lungs and asthma.
