Anyone, who has any to share?
By success stories, I mean, many years without symptoms, or a very controlled asthma. Maybe even going through a longer periode without using an emergency inhaler or even inhaler in general.

Hi Jas I am not sure whether I qualify in terms of many years but I have been well for two years. I contracted Severe Refractory Eosinophilic Asthma late 2015 after getting a virus whilst away. This very quickly turned into SREA and I spent most of 2016 in hospital, nearly died once, lost my job and felt totally helpless, alone and miserable. I am now very well, haven’t had an attack for 2 years, am back to work and know I am very lucky. I am so grateful that I was given Mepolizumab and that it has worked sooo well. I am not saying that I am the same and that I can push myself as hard as I used to but I am here and every day I take another small step towards being me. It is not the physical aspects of my condition that concern me but what is has done to me mentally. I am more cautious in general and not as confident as I was but I am certain that the more time passes the more of me will return. My story is one of hope, courage and acceptance. I found your story helpful! I also suffer from the emotional parts of experiencing breathlessness and it sounds like you’ve been through a lot. It’s almost like recovering from a trauma and I hope over time I will also get though it.
I have not taken any meds because I think that I have to stay away for that . But I still having symptoms. 
I had 5 years of 4 seretide morning and night and symptoms during the day, out of breath talking and 2 attacks in 6 months where I needed a neubiliser in A&A. I changed to Relvar Ellipta 1 year ago. I puff at night. Zero symptoms and never take ventolin now. I truly believe seretide had completely stoppef working for me. I was on it for 10 years and 10 years of its predecessor seretide and flixotide. I also changed back to Singulair last year from Monteklaust but I attribute my "new baby breathing" as I now refer to my breathing to (a) stopping seretide and (b) Relvar. The change was immediate.
Ive had asthma my whole life and would take Beconase (then Clenil) in the winter and cope with just Ventolin in the summer.
If I caught a cold I would be very ill and miss work for about 3 days (it would feel like flu) and be ill for 2 weeks (luckily i have a desk job so could manage even when struggling to breath). This would happen 3-4 times a year, mainly in the winter.
when I was about 30 I moved into a new house and the carpets were disgusting, my other half made me rip them all out and underneath was tongue and grove throughout.
We sanded and varnished them all, and about the same time we bought a dyson. These 2 actions effectively 'cured' my asthma. I assume it was dust mights that caused my issues.
I react badly to mould still and get some exercise induces asthma but I now rarely get colds and if I do they are minor.
I still take Clenil sometime if I go on holiday or know I will be in a dusty environment.
I have had 1 (what I would call) attack in the last 20 years.
Hi I have had asthma since I was 5 years 62 years. In all that time I have never been hospitalised- been on many different medications from Franell tablets, to Intel, to Foradil and now Relvar 184. The trouble with me is when I was younger I never got bothered too much about my chest but the last 6 years have nearly driven me mad - not really because of my asthma but the anxiety. I suffer very badly from it abd my stress levels are crazy. Just this year I am under a chest consultant but to be honest he hasn't done mych for me. I had a chest x-ray which was good, a heart echo which showed heart good although I must have a 24 hour blood pressure monitor on to check that my bp tablets are working. All in all I feel like a freak that it is not asthma but anxiety I have. The Relvar is great but I still take a couple of puffs of Atrovent every day. Don't know whether I just take this from habit or do I really need it.
