A whinge

Hi all. So i’ve got a chest infection and am on my fifth lot of pred in 12months. I’m breathless, sore and wheezy, feeling unpleasantly hyped from the pred, and my hands are shaking so much from salbutamol I can barely type. Fun! Can anyone relate?

I can relate to that. I have subcutaneous syringe driver with bricanyl and I shake like mad

I laugh when I try and take my nebulizer on top of that and try to eat i have to use a spoon

But at least it helps me breath

Yep. Pred gives me the shakes and makes me anxious. Add ventolin on top of that and I'm a bit useless some times! I know it's easier said than done but I try and find ways to relax. Stupid tv, games on my phone, crafting etc. Sometimes a bath helps my sore muscles too.Hope you feel better soon.

Crafting is a good idea.Just had 4 more puffs of ventolin, but get onto it when the shakes wear off

You poor thing. Should you be on something like DuoResp so you don't have to take so much Salbutamol? What preventor are you on?

Thanks Kathryn. I’m on seretide (the high dose) and montelukast, which do help but I still get nasty infections from time to time. Luckily, the steroids seem to be kicking in and my peak flow’s much better today - so hopefully can look forward to recovery now!
