Cough and mucas

Hi, got a cold over Christmas then lead to me coughing at night so went to the doctors who checked my chest which was clear? Put me on another inhaler which has helped but now I feel I have mucas stuck in my throat and have to keep clearing my throat, peak flow is all ok and not out of breath, I have had asthma since childhood and it’s mostly well controlled, just wanted some advise and if anyone else suffers from this?

I find when I eat a lot of dairy this happens

You could try a salt gargle to see if that helps. I do find that when I use a nasal wash it shifts the mucus not just in my sinuses but at the top of my throat too. Mucus from sinuses can drip down into the back of your throat. Worth a try although it takes a while to get the technique right. There is plenty of information on-line about doing them.
